Hans Zimmer is one of my favorite film composers. His scores are always perfectly aligned with the visual narrative, enhancing the emotional depth and action of a scene. His music has helped to make some breathtaking moments in cinema history.  But like all the best composers, strip the visuals, and Zimmer’s music has a powerful standalone beauty.   ‘Leave No Man Behind,’ is a prime example of that, and a piece I just adore.

Every time I heard it, I felt it would be perfect for an arrangement with Celtic instrumentation, but more specifically, my Uilleann pipes…they were calling! My arrangement doesn’t come close to the musicianship or production of the original, but I do hope it captures some of the emotion resonance.
